Selene was born and raised in the south of Mexico City and studied at the Faculty of Arts at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Throughout her career, she has filmed numerous projects, including music videos, short films, fashion films, series, and feature films.

In November 2024, she shot her first feature film as a cinematographer: No me sigas, produced by Edge Films and Maligno Corehouse, with distribution by Blumhouse Productions. She also worked on the second season of Vgly for HBO and Prefiero la muerte for Amazon, where she served as the second unit cinematographer.
